5. Torso Track
Of the two infomercial products, this one was by far the most effective with a mean activity level of 127%. Unlike the Ab Rocker and the Ab Roller, I can actually say that getting this product could benefit your abs. But at the same time, why spend money for only number 5?
4. Vertical Leg Crunch
Coming in at #4 in the countdown is one of my favorites, the vertical leg crunch. With an average activity of 129%, this is an effective exercise. To perform this exercise, lay on your back and lift your legs up straight in the air as shown in the picture below. Then proceed to contract your abs to lift your shoulder blades off the ground. Lower your self back down, and repeat.
3. Crunch on an Exercise Ball
Here is yet another one of my favorite exercises, the crunch on an exercise ball. With an impressive average activity of 139%, this exercise should be an important part of everyone’s ab workout. Before you can perform this exercise, you are going to need to get an exercise ball. To begin the exercise, lie face-up with the ball resting on your lower back. Contract your abs to lift your torso off the ball, pulling the bottom of your ribcage down toward your hips. During this whole motion, make sure to keep the ball stable (no rolling!).
2. Captain’s Chair
With this fantastic exercises’ average activity level of 212%, you should be performing the captain’s chair for ripped abs. Unfortunately, in order to perform this exercise you need this fairly expensive but extremely useful piece of equipment. If you can’t afford it, you can also find this at pretty much very gym. Start by standing on the chair and griping the handholds to stabilize your upper body. Contract the abs to raise the legs and lift knees towards your chest while breathing smoothly.
1. Bicycle Maneuver
Now for the exercise you’ve all been waiting for: the bicycle maneuver. With an absolutely absurd average activity of 248%, this exercise simply blows the competition away. To perform this exercise, lie face up on the floor and lace your fingers behind your head. Bring your knees to 45-degree angle (halfway between straight up toward the ceiling and level with the floor) & begin a pedal motion by touching opposite elbow to opposite knee, alternating each side.
So there you have it, the 13 best and worst abdominal exercises. By incorporating some of the better of these exercises into your workout routine, you will be able to effectively tone your abdominal muscles.

The last 2 abs are always the hardest to see. In order to see them, you will need to follow a strict diet combined with a fairly consistant exercise regimine. I wrote an article about this, so check it out here
